Fifteen T4 Scouts earned their coin collecting merit badges on August 23 at the Golden State Coin Show held in the Arcadia Masonic Temple. Walt Ostromecki, president of the American Numismatic Association regaled the workshop with fun facts about all forms of currency. Scouts were even shown real-time a rare double-headed Indian nickel worth $4 million! 
They showed examples of “money” dating back to ancient times, as well as “canoe” money from the South Pacific. The scouts enjoyed learning about how and where modern US money is minted and printed. The scouts learned how collectible coins are rated. Lastly the group toured the coin show. A profitable time was had by all.

The T4 Boy Scouts and Scouters took about one week and covered 60 actual miles in six days. By most accounts, the crew considered this summer adventure as one of their all-time favorite.

Boys Navigate Zion Narrows
The Zion Narrows Backpacking trip in Utah was unlike any backpacking trip I had ever been on. Six Scouts and 2 ASMs went. The windy 16 mile Virgin River served as the trail. Fourth of July 2014
Flags
Troop 4 put up numerous American Flags up and down Lake Avenue. This time, Mr. Grace was in charge of the event and will be in charge of taking down the flags as well. Fourth of July is just one of the holidays that American flags can be seen lining Lake Avenue courtesy of the Boy Scouts of Troop 4. Other Holidays where you can see the flags up and waving on Lake Avenue are Memorial Day, Veteran’s Day, and Labor Day.

Richard Peck — The Tear Drop Project
The Tear-Drop Project for Richard Peck was a huge success, thanks to Mike Comer and so many other volunteers. The fund-raiser was held at the infield of the Santa Anita Race Track, which donated proceeds for one race to help Richard. There was a collection of vintage campers, gourmet food, live music and special events. But most important, was an outpouring of love and support for Richard and Nick. See more photos here.
Wilderness First Aid Students Graduate
Field Training in Wilderness 1st Aid
